Covering an area of 22,408 ha, Cuc Phuong National Park is a plus in this regard. With a brand development strategy, the park intends to create innovative and unique products, including sports tourism, such as opening a trail race through the forest to attract more tourists.
Cuc Phuong Forest is considered a giant treasure with a complete value system between nature, history and culture. It was named one of Asia’s top national parks by the World Travel Awards for the fourth consecutive year from 2019 to 2022, said Do Hong Hai, deputy director of the National Park Environmental Services and Education Center by Cuc Phuong.
With the aim of raising awareness among tourists and the community about nature conservation in general and wildlife protection in particular, the park coordinated with New Race JSC to organize the “Cuc Phuong Jungle Paths” for the second year.
After two editions, the event attracted thousands of national and international tourists, contributing to the promotion of the beauty and attractiveness, as well as the natural, historical and cultural values of the Cuc Phuong Forest, and to the implementation of conservation and sustainability measures. He cited “Cuc Phuong Jungle Paths” as a typical event. With the participation of 2,500 runners, this year’s tournament helped publicize the attractiveness of Ninh Binh’s landscapes to domestic and foreign athletes. Other types of sporting activities such as canoeing, golf, cycling and mountaineering have also developed in the province.
The stunning landscapes, hospitality of local people and unique cultural values of Ninh Binh are favorable conditions for units and organizations to choose it as an ideal destination for sporting events.
In addition to participating in sporting events, athletes and their families also stay or go on sightseeing trips in Ninh Binh, said Pham Duy Phong, adding that this is a golden opportunity for the tourism sector to increase demand and promote the province’s image.
To fully exploit the potential of sports tourism, the sector has tasked the Ninh Binh Tourism Association, hotels and destinations to prepare all conditions related to social security, environment, health, infrastructure and accommodation.
Pham Duy Phong stated that in the near future, the Provincial Tourism Department will study, evaluate and operate new types of tourism, especially adventure sports tourism such as mountaineering and mountain biking in the locality.
