MICE tourism: Vietnam presents its potential to Belgian tour operators

The Vietnamese tourism market, in particular MICE tourism, was introduced to Belgian travel agencies during a conference held on Thursday (9 November) in Antwerp, Belgium.

The event was attended by representatives from ten companies and tourism agents operating in the Vietnamese market.

On this occasion, the General Director of Asian Trails Vietnam, Bùi Viêt Thuy Tiên, said that Vietnam has strengths in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) tourism, thanks to the diversity of its tourist destinations. Additionally, Vietnam is a convenient transit point for flights to Laos and Cambodia, she added.

Sharing with Vietnam News Agency (VNA) correspondent in Brussels, Bùi Viêt Thuy Tiên said that after the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to revive the MICE tourism market, which has attracted the attention of Belgian visitors.

At the event, Tran Ngoc Quân, Vietnamese Commercial Counselor in Belgium, informed participants about Vietnam’s new visa policies, including extending the validity of e-visas from one to three months, creating more favorable conditions for foreign tourists in Vietnam. .

Iako Khomeriki, representative of APG travel agency – sales agent for Vietnam Airlines in Belgium, said that the Vietnamese airline is the favorite among passengers traveling to Vietnam. After the COVID-19 pandemic, in June 2022, the national carrier once again increased its air routes to Europe. It is a good condition for European tourists to explore Vietnam.

During the conference, representatives of Belgian travel agencies stated that they will continue to introduce Vietnamese tourism to their customers in Belgium and Europe.
