This port of call marked the beginning of the inaugural itineraries of the luxury ocean travel brand’s first ship in the Caribbean and Central America. MSC Group.

EXPLORA I offers 461 beachfront suites, penthouses and residences, designed to be “ houses at sea » for its passengers, all with a stunning view of the ocean, a private terrace. It prides itself on offering a choice of eleven distinct culinary experiences across six dynamic restaurants and in-suite dining.
There are also twelve bars and lounges (eight indoors and four outdoors), four swimming pools, large outdoor terraces with private cabanas, wellness facilities and exquisite entertainment.

Caribbean and Central America
I took the EXPLORA to the sea for the first time last summer, in Europe.
The ship equipped with the latest environmental and maritime technologies was christened on October 12th in New York – in the presence of its godmother, the explorer Sylvia Earle.
The first stop of EPLORA I PortoMiamion November 3rd, it gave rise to the traditional maritime ceremony of exchanging coats of arms.
After this first stop in Miami, EXPLORA headed to San Juan, Puerto Rico. From November to March, the luxury ship will explore the Caribbean and Central America, calling at ports such as Samana (Dominican Republic) and Bridgetown (Barbados), as well as calls in Antigua and Barbuda, Turks and Caicos, Cartagena, St. .Barthélemy and the Grenadines, among others, before heading to the west coast of the United States.
The first of six until 2028
It is worth remembering that EXPLORA I is the first ship in a fleet that is expected to number six by 2028. Two of them are under construction. I’EXPLORE II it is also expected to enter service in the summer of 2024 and operate until April 2025 in the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
O EXPLORE III AND EXPLORE IV both will be powered by liquefied natural gas and are expected to enter service in 2026 and 2027, respectively. EXPLORE V AND EXPLORE VI both will be powered by hydrogen and are expected to enter service in 2027 and 2028, respectively.
